About the Director

Mrs. Kimberly Kelsey is currently the dance instructor at Henderson Junior High School and Stephenville High School where she also directs the National Champion Stingerettes Drill Team. Kim has trained in various styles of dance, and is a cum laude graduate of Oklahoma City University with a Bachelor of Science in Dance Management and a minor in history. She is also certified by the state of Texas to teach dance and physical education.
 
Mrs. Kelsey has been teaching and choreographing award winning students and routines throughout the southwest in both the public and private dance division for over twenty years. She was voted Outstanding Director by her colleagues at the American Dance/Drill Company competition with the Stingerettes. Prior to coming to Stephenville ISD, she served as the pep squad and assistant JV and Varsity dance team director at Reagan High School as well as the dance instructor for Lopez Middle School in her native town of San Antonio for three years. Kimberly was also an assistant teacher and choreographer for the North East ISD throughout high school and college. She has worked for Showstopper’s company and the American Dance/Drill company competition circuits.

Kim has performed for various industrials and conventions, the San Antonio Symphony, the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, the Third Coast Rhythm Project, Texas Public Radio, the San Pedro Playhouse, and in OCU’s The Secret Garden. While in college, Kim was a member and dance captain of the American Spirit Dance Company, the Spirit of Grace Liturgical Dance Company, and the OCU Stars’ Pep Dancers.

Kimberly is also a former Assistant Stage Manager for the American Spirit Dance Company, and light board programmer for Home for the Holidays. She was assistant to the technical director for the Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Arts Management, Summerstock Productions Inc., Balliet’s fashion show, the International Dance Studio, and the Norman Ballet Company. Kim has had the honor to serve as the president of the Students of Arts Management while at OCU, as well as the studio manager for the Earle Cobb Dance Studio while in high school.
 
Kim is married to Coach Tyler Kelsey who teaches P.E. at Hook Elementary and is an assistant baseball coach at SHS. Kim and Tyler have two daughters, Annabelle and Caroline. The Kelsey family is thrilled to be a part of the faculty and community at Stephenville ISD.
