About Me

Hello World,

My name is Shelly Saunders and I am on my 10th year as a Spanish teacher. I have taught everything from Spanish 1 to Spanish for Heritage Speakers and AP/Dual Credit Spanish 5. Most of my Spanish lanuage was acquired as an adult through various study abroad programs. I have participated in 6 extended study abroad programs, some as a student, some as a leader to Guatemala, Mexico, Spain and as of this summer Brazil.

I firmly believe in the 90% rule currently growing in popularity. This is, in all language courses, 90% of the instruction should be in the Target Language. Of course, it must be comprehensible, a.k.a comprehensible input, to be meaningful instruction. As a teacher I strive to maintain this 90% standard everyday and love helping others unlock the little secrets so they can do it to.

I am truly looking forward to the 2014-2015 schoolyear! It's going to be a great year. Please let me know if you have any doubts or concerns.
